goals Manchester-Wigan

Soccer / English Premier League

United had several early setbacks losing Saha (warm up), Vidic and O’Shea in the opening thirty minutes. Olembe had Kirkland to thank for saving his own-goal effort, whilst Mike Riley turned down strong penalty claims from Ronaldo and Evra. United came close to scoring with Ronaldo’s fierce drive, and Tevez should have scored on the whistle. But the Argentine scored a fabulous goal at the start of the second period, which was quickly followed by Ronaldo’s headed second. United then dominated the game, adding lovely team moves for the third and fourth goals, finished by Ronaldo and Rooney respectively.
