Giancarlo Maldonado scored twice to lift Venezuela to a 5-3 victory over Bolivia on Wednesday in a World Cup qualifying match.
Maldonado, of Mexico's Atlante, put Venezuela ahead for the first time when he put a header over Arias in the 89th minute. He then made it 5-3.
Martin Martins gave Bolivia a 1-0 lead at 19 minutes off a lost ball in the middle of the field. Venezuela tied it a minute later with a pass from Jorge Rojas to Daniel Arismendi, who sent a shot to the left post.
Juan Carlos Arce put the Bolivians up again in the 27th minute, and Arismendi got Venezuela even again at 2 in the 40th minute.
Martins put Bolivia ahead 3-2, but Alejandro Guerra's goal in the 82nd minute forged the third tie of the game.
