Agbonlahor headed Villa in front, but United equalised when Rooney capitalised on a Zat Knight mistake. Rooney then collected a precise pass from Tevez, and he had time to control the ball before slotting it past Carson. Villa then left in a third goal just before the break when Craig Gardner sliced the ball into his own net after Ferdinand’s strike on goal. (First-half highlights here.)
